Dental Monitoring
Straight teeth – wherever you are!
At Braces Specialist, it doesn’t matter where in the world you may be, we can help you achieve the beautiful smile you have always dreamed of.
Many of our patients travel frequently for work and all our patients lead very busy lifestyles, which is why we are always looking at ways to enable them to enjoy the benefits of orthodontic treatment, without the hassle of frequent check-ups.
Now, thanks to dental monitoring software, having orthodontic treatment just got a whole lot easier and more convenient. No more regular visits to our clinic; instead, we can straighten your teeth via your smartphone! So, wherever you are in the world, you can still have orthodontic treatment from our specialist orthodontist.
What is dental monitoring?
Dental monitoring is an orthodontic software that connects our system in the clinic with an app on your smartphone. Throughout treatment, all you have to do is send us a selfie of your teeth each week via the app and we can track the progress of your treatment. This means:
- No more clinic visits to fit into your diary.
- You can take the photos from anywhere in the world.
- You can send your orthodontist a photo at any time if you’re worried about how your treatment is progressing.
Orthodontic treatment made easy
Dental monitoring has made it so much more convenient for our patients to have orthodontic treatment. Many of our patients work in professions where first impressions can make all the difference, and we all know how important a beautiful smile is for that!
Even though our patients lead busy lifestyles, it’s still important for them to be able to have orthodontic treatment and now dental monitoring makes it easier to achieve this.
Here’s how dental monitoring works:
Step 1: Initial consultation
To start any orthodontic treatment journey, all our patients need to come into the clinic for an initial consultation. This is an opportunity for us to get to know each other and to find out what you want to achieve from treatment.
At this time, we’ll undertake an assessment of your teeth so we can prepare a tailored treatment plan for you. This is important as we use this treatment plan with the dental monitoring software throughout your treatment journey.
Step 2: Fitting appointment
After your initial consultation and your decision to commit to treatment, one more in-clinic appointment is required. This is your fitting appointment when we’ll fit your braces or provide you with your sets of Invisalign aligners. At this appointment, we’ll also set you up with dental monitoring and show you how the app works so you no longer need to come into the clinic for check-ups.
Please note, at the moment we are only able to offer dental monitoring to our Invisalign patients.
Step 3: Send us your selfies
Now that you have your appliance fitted, all you need to do is keep in touch with us. This just means sending us one selfie per week of your smile. Simply follow the instructions on the dental monitoring app and your selfie will come through to us in the clinic. We’ll compare your smile with the treatment plan we set up at your first appointment and, if your teeth are on track according to your plan there’s no need for you to come in for a check-up!
Step 1
Download the app to your smart phone (it is available for iPhone and Android)
Step 2
Take weekly photos of your teeth and upload them to your secure dental monitoring file
Step 3
Our specialist orthodontist, Dr Noorani will review your photos and let you know if your teeth are moving as they should be.
5 benefits of dental monitoring
- 1. It’s convenient: Never before has it been so easy to have orthodontic treatment. There’s no need to change your diary, your schedule or your lifestyle. All you need is your smartphone and you are well on your way to enjoying the benefits of beautifully straight teeth.
- 2. Treatment can be conducted anywhere in the world: If you travel for work, or perhaps you come to London for work or pleasure, you can still have orthodontic treatment from our specialist team. Dental monitoring means we don’t have to see you for check-ups. Instead, you can have virtual check-ups every week!
- 3. It’s accurate: Taking a selfie once a week to send through to our specialist orthodontist for review doesn’t take long. But it does our dentist can keep an eye on your treatment progress and, if for any reason your teeth aren’t moving as they should be, he can readjust your treatment. This makes for more accurate, and in many cases, faster treatment.
- 4. Enjoy greater communication with us: The dental monitoring app also means you can keep in greater communication with us. Not only are there the weekly virtual check-ups, but if you have a question about your treatment at any stage just send it to us via the app.
- 5. Dental monitoring is offered as standard for all Invisalign cases: We are excited to be able to offer dental monitoring to all our Invisalign patients. We hope to be able to extend this offer to patients wearing traditional appliances in the near future.
