Invisalign
Invisalign can now treat some complicated cases.
It comprises of a set of aligners, which are removable so you can take them out to eat, brush and floss to keep your teeth healthy during treatment. You can also remove them when playing sports or musical instruments, or for those important business meetings and other occasions, such as first dates!
How does Invisalign work?
Invisalign works by creating a series of custom-made aligners designed specifically for your teeth and jaws. This is done through a digital prescription by the orthodontist on the computer. Each set of aligners, one for the top teeth and one for the bottom, should be worn for approximately one week. After this, you’ll need to replace them with the next set in the series.
Every set of aligners is manufactured according to your bespoke treatment plan. As you replace the aligners your teeth gradually move into their desired position.
Track your treatment on your smartphone
At The Braces Specialist, we use Invisalign aligners in conjunction with a remote monitoring orthodontic software. This allows us to track your treatment via your smartphone reducing the number of check-up appointments you’ll need to attend throughout your treatment.
Every week your orthodontist will let you know whether you are doing well or you need to wear your aligners for a few more days if they haven’t achieved the desired result. On occasion if it is seen the aligners are not fitting well enough or the gums are becoming unhealthy, you will be advised to come in early for your next check.
